Master Tailor
Millennium Group is looking for an experienced Master Tailor with strong technical skills, attention to detail and a genuine understanding of garment construction and finishing.
This is a skilled position for a tailor who takes pride in precision and craftsmanship. The successful candidate should be capable of translating patterns, measurements and design requirements into well-constructed garments with a consistently high standard of fit and finish.
Key Responsibilities
Tailoring & Construction
- —Execute garment construction according to measurements, patterns and design specifications.
- —Handle cutting, stitching, fitting, alterations and finishing as required.
- —Work with different fabrics and garment types.
- —Ensure accurate measurements and proportions.
- —Interpret patterns and tailoring instructions correctly.
- —Maintain consistency across individual garments and production requirements.
Fitting & Alterations
- —Conduct fittings and identify areas requiring adjustment.
- —Make accurate alterations while maintaining garment structure and appearance.
- —Ensure the final fit meets the required specifications.
- —Identify construction or fitting issues and recommend appropriate corrections.
Quality & Finishing
- —Maintain high standards of stitching and garment finishing.
- —Check garments for defects, loose threads, uneven seams, fitting issues and other quality concerns.
- —Ensure finished garments meet the required quality standard before delivery.
- —Minimise material wastage through careful and efficient working practices.
Coordination
- —Coordinate with designers, supervisors or other team members regarding measurements, specifications and alterations.
- —Communicate technical challenges or production issues promptly.
- —Complete assigned work within agreed timelines without compromising quality.
What We Are Looking For
- —5–10 years of relevant tailoring experience.
- —Strong technical knowledge of garment construction.
- —Excellent cutting, stitching and finishing skills.
- —Strong understanding of measurements and fitting.
- —Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and garment styles.
- —High attention to detail.
- —Good hand skills and precision.
- —Ability to interpret patterns and garment specifications.
- —Strong quality consciousness.
- —Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Experience in premium, bespoke, formal or specialised tailoring will be an advantage.
