Senior Accountant
Millennium Group is looking for an experienced and dependable Senior Accountant to take responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance and financial controls across the organisation.
This is a senior-level position for someone who understands that accounting is not simply about recording transactions. The role requires strong financial discipline, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to ensure that management has accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing accounting processes end-to-end and coordinating with internal teams, auditors, consultants, banks, vendors and other stakeholders when required.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Records
- —Oversee day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- —Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified.
- —Maintain general ledgers, journals, vouchers and supporting documentation.
- —Review accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- —Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and ensure timely follow-up.
- —Perform regular ledger scrutiny and reconciliation.
- —Ensure proper maintenance of books and financial records.
Financial Reporting
- —Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports.
- —Provide accurate financial information to management as required.
- —Analyse account balances, expenses and significant variances.
- —Assist management in understanding financial performance and trends.
- —Ensure that financial reports are prepared within agreed timelines.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- —Manage and coordinate GST-related accounting and compliance activities.
- —Handle TDS accounting and related compliance requirements.
- —Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors where required.
- —Ensure that statutory records and supporting documentation are maintained properly.
- —Keep track of applicable compliance deadlines.
Banking & Reconciliation
- —Manage bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- —Monitor banking transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
- —Assist with banking documentation and financial requirements.
Audit & Controls
- —Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors.
- —Provide required schedules, documents and explanations during audits.
- —Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
- —Strengthen internal accounting controls and processes.
What We Are Looking For
- —10–15 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- —Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- —Good working knowledge of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
- —Proficiency in Tally and relevant accounting software.
- —Strong Excel and reporting skills.
- —Excellent attention to detail.
- —Ability to independently manage accounting activities.
- —Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- —Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- —Good communication and coordination skills.
Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, M.Com or equivalent will be an advantage, depending on the candidate's overall experience and suitability for the role.
